Job Description

The Physician Educator will support the study by delivering physician engagement trainings to vaccine prescribers working in primary care clinics via interactive webinar. During these one-hour sessions, the Physician Educator will provide didactic instruction on HPV vaccination, communication training, and assessment and feedback of HPV vaccination coverage. The Physician Educator will be responsible for assisting in recruitment and scheduling of trainings, delivering trainings, and documenting key components of the intervention. Consultations will be conducted through August, 2018., Please note: The Office of Human Resources will not be able to provide specific updates regarding position or application status. Graduation and or completion of an educational program for Physician Assistants accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs and an active Physician Assistant License issued by the North Carolina Board of Medical Examiners. Prefer MD in General Pediatrics, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Infectious Disease and have board certification in that medical specialty. Prefer candidate have knowledge of adolescent health, vaccine delivery, the operations of clinics that serve adolescent patients, HPV infection and related disease outcomes, HPV vaccine delivery, and the foundations of quality improvement in clinical settings. Additionally, prefer candidate possess strong communication and interpersonal skills. Experience training other medical professionals and facilitating quality improvement activities is also preferred.
