Job Description

Overview The employee will be responsible to perform the following tasks; removal of tires sorting and grading of tires handling of tires cutting of scrap chassis forklift driving UTR driving Writing Estimates Gate Inspections General clean up and facility housekeeping duties as assigned. The utility mechanic will be expected to become knowledgeable of, and utilize all safety rules and TRAC policies and procedures Responsibilities Daily review of safety rules. Safe handling of chassis, tires and other items engaged with the appropriate lift device. Working knowledge of oxygen / fuel gas cutting gear / pneumatic and electric impact tools / pneumatic and electric grinders is essential. Moving and position of chassis using appropriate equipment (UTR). Communicating with management on workload requirements, clear and accurate documentation backlog of work, and inventory issues. Following industry and TRAC policies and procedures able to generate and communicate written documentation related to cutting chassis, tire inventories, chassis and axles 'in bound and out bound interchanges. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Experience in operating lift devices and yard trucks. Ability to be certified to operate forklift and UTR type equipment. Ability to read and write legibly. Ability to work outdoors for extended periods of time. Ability to review a written plan and execute according to the stated standards. Ability to work within a process oriented team atmosphere. Must have experience with flame cutting, various mechanical tools and equipment. Ability to function effectively in a fast paced, team oriented work environment. Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize workloads and handle multiple tasks. Special Requirements This position will require periodic support of other local TRAC M&R activities. Other duties as assigned.
