The RN Service Supervisor coordinates the overall plan of care for Clients and orients, develops and supervises the Caregivers assigned to those Clients. The RN Service Supervisor is responsible for receiving Client intakes from various sources and performs an initial assessment for each Client. The RN Service Supervisor is responsible for ongoing monitoring of the services for this Client throughout the duration of the authorization/Client Service Agreement. The RN Service Supervisor follows protocol on report writing and completes all reports in a timely manner. The RN Service Supervisor conducts on-site visits and is responsible for supervising and monitoring the service Mastercare is authorized to provide.
Performs Client Intakes and enters all information into the scheduling software
Assessments - Assesses the physical, biophysical and health education needs of clients and the employees’ abilities and determines if they can work with clients. Gathers pertinent client data using all available resources.
Prepares and completes all new client paperwork
Planning - Establishes a nursing plan of care, including pertinent measurable short and long-term goals for clients. Make a Planning calendar to schedule On-site visitations.
Implementation - Implements interventions appropriate to the age-specific needs of child, adolescent, adult and geriatric home care clients. Provides client and family education for clients and their families / caregivers.
Introduces and orients new caregivers to clients. Ensures that each caregiver is trained in the manner and method of providing service to the client before the caregiver works independently with the client.
Completes skills check thoroughly
Provides appropriate and safe interventions in emergency situations.
Provides the unique communication needs for clients.
Communicates with members of the health care team and other appropriate parties as necessary in the delivery of care.
Assist in maintaining a safe environment for clients.
Will provide in-service training to Mastercare
Will delegate procedure to assigned employee, if determined competent.
Evaluation - Performs initial, six (6) month, and annual skills check of all assigned employees. Performs on-site supervision of all assigned employees. Alters the plan of care appropriate to changes in the client’s status.
Completes all On-Site Visit Reports thoroughly and in a timely manner
Utilizes special knowledge of age-specific differences in homecare clients to recognize changes in client’s status.
Observes and follows all of Mastercare policies and procedures and is particularly aware of pertinent human resource policies relating to employee supervision, progressive discipline, and grievance and appeals procedures.
Participates in the evaluation of assigned employees; provides assessment information; provides regular feedback regarding performance to assigned employees
Assist in training and orientation of new employees.
Office tasks - Must have excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, organizational, analytical and presentation skills. May participate in the analysis, planning and strategic formation of Mastercare services program goals.
Serves as the point of contact for third-party payer Service Coordinators
Attends all meetings such as; case conferences, care resources/seminars
Off hour and weekend staffing, as needed

Calculate direct hires, separation fees, or bill rates for clerical clients
Create classified ads weekly and monitor budget for classified advertising
Participate in job fairs and trade shows
Inform Branch Manager of client, assignment employee and office staff situations that require immediate attention
Ensure the branches maintenance, growth, sales and profit objectives are achieved
Select, train, develop and motivate regular full time staff. Supervise staff, providing coaching and counseling as needed.
Motivate staff to achieve greater business, profitability and monitor their results.
Coordinate recruiting fairs; attend/participate in community organizations.
Monitor billing hours to ensure those goals are achieved.
Investigate sexual harassment/harassment complaints, safety concerns, discrimination issues, forged checks and stop payment checks cashed.
