ACCOUNTING DEPARTMENT The mission of the accounting department is to promote financial prosperity for EmPower Solar, our employees, and our partners. This involves completing bookkeeping as quickly and accurately as possible, but also requires communication with all members of the company, and our partners, which must be done professionally. We are tasked to solve problems on the fly every day. In doing so we constantly learn how to improve our systems. We also consult with outside sources and pursue independent education to further our skill sets. ACCOUNTING MANAGER POSITION SUMMARY The accounting manager is a key employee that manages cash flow, and works with the management team to help EmPower accomplish its financial goals. The AR and AP/Bookkeeping associates report directly to the accounting manager. Please see further duties and responsibilities below: KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Cash Flow Management · Work AR manager, project management team, and key clients directly to accelerate receivables · Work with AP manager to allocated and administer payable budgets and manage key vendor relationships · Forecast future cash flows Payroll/HR · Regular payroll · Sales Commissions · Team Bonuses · Employee expense reimbursement programs Reporting · Monthly P&L with trend analysis (by Division - Residential/Commercial/Service) · Job Profitability Budgeting · Preparation and evaluation of actual to budget Taxation · Employee income withholding · Vendor payment · Government reporting and payments Insurance · Plan selection · Audit Administration Capital Accounts · Manage credit sources when need to fund growth Inventory Accounting REQUIRED (BASIC) QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS · At least 3 years accounting management experience. · At least 5 years accounting department work experience · Very strong knowledge of accounting fundamentals and best practices · Strong knowledge of tax laws · Team oriented mindset · Strong emotional intelligence with the ability to productively disagree with other employees and come to well informed decisions together PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE · Software: QuickBooks, SalesForce · Multi-Division Financial Reporting · Full ERP systems · CPA/MBA · GAPP knowledge · Experience in high growth businesses HOURS, COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Employee shall be on a salary level commensurate with experience. Salary will be increased with time in service and strong performance. Additionally, EmPower offers a 401k plan and matches up to 4% of gross compensation. Benefits include medical, dental and vision programs. The typical day is 8-9 work hours with a break for lunch, starting at 8:30 AM. Manger should be able to work overtime to complete key, time sensitive, tasks. TRAINING EmPower Solar desires that all employees grow professionally.
