The responsibilities for this role include but not limited to: · Strategic alignment with our carrier providers · Negotiate high volume and high dollar bids, contracts and transitions with carriers · Manage, monitor and control procurement for annual freight spend · Manage and lead the regional short and long term strategy to procure accelerating capacity need while maintain transportation spend within budget · Manage response time and accuracy of carrier procurement bids · Ad-hoc project analysis for ATS sourcing categories to include dedicated transportation contracts and point-to-point purchases. · Work with other Amazon Transportation Services departments for strategic sourcing needs · A completed Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university, or 2+ years Amazon work experience · 7-10 years' experience in transportation, procurement functions · Uses highly analytical approach to drive transportation procurement strategy in a very high growth environment where priorities shift fast · Experience shaping business strategy for technical products or services · · Exhibits excellent business judgment · Ability to communicate clearly and compellingly and who understands how to drive a high level of focus and excellence with a strong and talented team · An innovative thinker who also has a strong customer and quality focus · Strong understanding of the industry · Conversant with internet and sourcing technologies · Has an entrepreneurial spirit Amazon.com is an Equal Opportunity Employer - Minority / Women / Disability / Veteran / Gender Identity / Sexual Orientation / Age.
