JOB OVERVIEW Responsible for providing technical expertise and leadership to Pro Tour assembly. Plan and execute specific projects focused on innovation, process improvement, and fundamental understanding within the larger team. Solve complex technical problems associated with new and existing Pro Tour products. Explore new opportunities within and outside the industries that could be applied, while also contributing to the technical advancement of others on the team. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Expert in the Pro Tour assembly and transactional process. Knowledgeable of USGA Rules. Monitors the work load and daily priorities for the Pro Tour Assembly Team. Ensures that all Pro Tour teams are trained on latest assembly techniques. Establishing Pro Tour Assembly and Testing Protocols. Liaison for Pro Tour Assembly, Tour Van Assembly, and Callaway Performance Centers. Coordinating Standardized Assembly Protocols for Global Assembly. Knowledgeable of all club assembly and equipment operations. Applies basic troubleshooting skills to analyze equipment problems and interpret data from machinery. Conveys relevant information to management regarding safety, quality, productivity, club performance, etc. Participates in team-based activities that focus on reducing waste, adding value and improving the process Technical Contributor Plan and lead the execution of studies to characterize and optimize key processes, including the analysis of results and formalized presentations to upper management. Lead the development of process specifications, procedures, and controls related to new Tour products. Provide leadership to Pro Tour teams related to assembly and testing of product. Develop understanding of production processes to identify the parameters related to product performance. Identify and evaluate new methods and equipment to improve current processes and/or equipment. Identify opportunities pertaining to capital projects and provide guidance in the selection of equipment. Provide technical expertise in identifying solutions for problem-solving and lead continuous improvement opportunities amid improving Tour performance. Stay abreast of technology advancements that can improve Pro Tour assembly. Understanding of Transactional Process related to internal systems Provide technical direction and management to R&D, Product Engineering, and Tour Teams. Project Management Lead and manage schedules pertaining to projects as assigned by supervisor, and regularly communicate status to upper management. Develop and manage the execution of Project Plans: Work with supervisor, peers, and/or subordinates to develop detailed plans to accomplish an assigned objective (process improvement, new equipment purchase, etc.), including the definition of resources necessary to achieve project objectives. Provide project timelines, status, and summary reports to management as required. Communicate with external suppliers and vendors regarding projects Communicate with other departments about issues and projects in formal and/or informal meetings Additional Duties On occasion may cover duties of superiors and/or subordinates (PTO, overload situations, etc.) Required to spend time at production facilities to transfer process knowledge pertaining to new equipment of process Required to learn and become an expert in all testing functions for Pro Tour products. Support and travel to Pro Tour Tournaments when required Visit Callaway assembly and suppliers/sub-contractors as needed TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities) Self-starter that takes the initiative to start and complete assignments without direct supervision. Ability to gain cooperation of functional counter-parts or others not directly supervised to achieve assigned objectives. Knowledge of basic DOE, SPC, and basic problem-solving tools, including Six-Sigma Must be able to work on assignments that are highly complex in nature where considerable knowledge and independent action is required in resolving problems and making recommendations. Considers and understands financial impact of decisions. Must be able to communicate effectively with peers, supervisors, managers, and engineers. Must be flexible with the ability to adapt to changing environments and priorities. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE BS in Engineering or a related field with 2+ year's process experience in related technology; or equivalent. R&D and/or Early-Development experience ideal. Golf Academy or Equivalent desired. Golf Club Assembly desired. Experience using statistical tools. Six Sigma training preferred; Black Belt highly desired.
