JOB OVERVIEW This role is responsible evaluating products and processes for compliance to appropriate specifications and requirements, performing routine and special tests and inspections. JOB OVERVIEW Under moderate supervision, the Sr. Quality Engineer (CQE) will develop, implement and maintain our Global Quality Assurance Systems to help ensure that we meet and exceed finished product quality requirements. Incumbent will deploy and monitor global quality metrics, ensure alignment, accuracy, and timeliness of reporting. Incumbent will also conduct studies and provide analysis reports to assist management in making sound business decisions to address identified and future issues. Responsibilities include leading special projects and supporting daily activities in which Global Engineering and Quality teams will analyze business processes and recommend ways to improve them. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Ensure Voice of the Customer (VOC) and Voice of the Business (VOB) are included in global quality criteria. Drive improvements to increase customer satisfaction, which drive revenue and profitability. Conduct data analysis and trend reporting. Interpret various requests for analysis reports, identify appropriate data from system and develop reports. Optimize reporting and summarize data. Draw statistical conclusions, analyze distributions, test hypotheses, perform capability studies, validate measurement systems and design and execute experiments. Implement effective systems to enable capability and quality improvement. Administer Statistical Process Control (SPC) software program, lead SPC deployments, and ensure data integrity. Improve processes that drive customer satisfaction. Support all business functions including, but not limited to, Operations, Innovation, Pro Tour, Finance, Customer Service and Sales. Leverage Quality Improvement and Lean Six Sigma tools as a means to challenge the status quo within Callaway Golf and our suppliers. Serve as a change agent and ambassador on the foundations of quality, its leadership principles and proven techniques. Administer risk assessment roadmap from product design through commercialization. Coach teams on the proper execution of Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (D-FMEA & P-FMEA) to eliminate/mitigate risks and make certain sufficient inspection/control plans are put in place. Proactively review data and identify trends in return reasons. Work with manufacturing, R&D, and suppliers to identify root cause and recommend/implement solutions. Monitor the returns process to ensure consistency and accuracy in return reason identification. Address and correct reporting inconsistencies. (Example: Standardize and simplify the returns reporting processes, and assist in analyzing repair vs. replace decisions regarding warranty/non-warranty). Work with manufacturing and customer service to identify counterfeit product returns. Assist legal in providing customer and product information along with special projects as needed. Coordinate the standardization and calibration of quality measurement gauges at both Callaway and supplier locations. Design and implement acceptance sampling procedures for acceptance control to achieve better quality at lower cost, improved control, and increased productivity. Partner with suppliers to use in an evolutionary manner to progress from sampling inspection toward a reliance upon process control and check inspection with the ultimate goal of no inspection at all. Assist management in other related projects as requested. TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities) Advanced skill level in Microsoft Office suite. Strong skill level in Minitab, SAP, and ERP systems. Proficiency with database management systems, specifically SQL. Knowledge and demonstrated application of quality methods and tools. This includes FMEA, Design of Experiments (DOE), Statistical Process Controls (SPC), Measure System Analysis (Gauge R&Rs) Excellent skill level in Project Management. Proficiency with report writing applications required, Business Objects knowledge a plus. Able to analyze data, detect trends, perform root cause or other types of analysis, and prepare forecasts based on trend analysis. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to prepare reports for all levels of employees and management containing appropriate levels of technical and non-technical data and analysis. Able to work across business functions, either in teams or individually, to identify and research issues and develop recommendations. Able to effectively manage multiple requests and priorities in a fast paced, quick turnaround environment, while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy. Able to work extended hours in critical situations. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Engineering or related field from a four-year college or university. Minimum 5 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. ASQ CQE certification required. Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification desired.
