Hughes is seeking a Commissions Specialist at our Germantown, MD headquarters to support high volume external selling retailers/partners in the area of commission processing by providing expertise as it relates to the management and calculation of commission payments for all of North America retailers. This position will interact with stakeholders in Sales, Marketing, Accounting, Relationship Management and Payroll to provide timely and accurate weekly payouts to retailers. Responsibilities: * Process weekly, monthly and quarterly commissions for Dealers, Independent Sales Agents, National Call Centers and others in accordance with commission plans i.e. commissions, bonuses, residuals, incentive programs, charge-backs and adjustments. * Set up payees in commission tool and associate to commission components and plans. * Update and maintain configurations within commission tool required for setting up new payment rules. * Produce timely and accurate weekly pre-approval pay files for management review prior to final approval. * Reconcile pre-approval payment calculations to ensure all payments and/or charge-backs due are being picked up. * Upload payment files to processing system for SAP by weekly accounting payroll deadline. * Research and calculate commission adjustments and resolve any issues in a timely manner. * Obtain management approvals for any commission exceptions and adjustments. * Continuously identify system discrepancies/behaviors and implement efficient commission processes working in collaboration with System Development Group (IT). * Support SDG team on development and testing of new commission plans prior to moving to production in calculation system. * Learn the behind-the-scenes commission calculations and queries and apply that knowledge to determine reasons for any resulting errors. * Build Excel reports using processing and commission data as requested by other internal departments and Senior Management. * Create, analyze, organize, and manage audit logs of payments and adjustments made for each week to ensure quality assurance prior to approval and processing of payment files. * Identify payment trends month after month that may indicate potential problems with data gathering or unusual lifts or declines in payment components. * Resolve payment issue queries from our external retailers/partners. Basic Requirements: * Bachelor's degree Finance, Economics, Computer Science or other related field * 2 or more years of experience in Sales commissions/compensation. Preferred Qualifications: * Experience in using compensation tools such as IBM Incentive Compensation Management (ICM) tool also known as Varicent * Exceptional aptitude for Data Analysis with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of data with attention to detail and accuracy * Familiarity with Oracle Databases, SQL and reporting packages such as SAP Business Objects, Tableau * Advanced Excel expertise including Macros, vlookup and pivots tables * Superior computational and reporting skills * Strong motivational leadership skills with ability to work independently * Highly detail oriented with ability to focus and understand all aspects that make up the big picture * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Familiarity with using SharePoint, SAP and Salesforce a plus EchoStar and its Affiliated Companies are committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
