Description THE OPPORTUNITY The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst plays a key role in both supporting the BI team's most important projects and being a driving force moving Chipotle further up the BI Maturity Curve. Not only are they capturing requirements but also deeply involved in the research and design of the solution to holistically understand and articulate business and technical details. The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst also has a passion for analyzing data to provide ad-hoc insights that may be a future call to action. They challenge themselves every day to go above and beyond and provide better insights to Chipotle. WHAT YOU'LL DO Identifying, gathering, and writing business and functional requirements by breaking features down into user stories and serving as the liaison between business owners and Scrum-based BI development teams Participating in release planning by working with business owners to gather and articulate all of the features needed for a successful project implementation Adhering to the standards for all project related artifacts including, but not limited to, business and functional requirement specification documents, user interface guides, use case specification, business and system process flows Identifying and surfacing gaps in requirements, cross department coordination needs, and risks to implementations; working with the right stakeholders to mitigate those risks Developing product ownership by growing an understanding of BI reporting systems and interdependencies with other corporate and external systems, business processes, and data; identifying opportunities for documentation of tribal knowledge for long-term organizational ownership Working closely with our business partners and delivery teams on release planning, feature grooming, user story grooming, and sprint planning Responsible for user story acceptance in the sprint; verifying all of the user acceptance criteria has been met by the sprint team and the implementation matches the intent of the user story Presenting the implementation of features to stakeholders and obtaining acceptance of features from those owners. Leveraging experience to recommend industry standard and best practice solutions; advocating for user experience best practices Go beyond the business ask to understand the true needs and use cases. Document as-is data/reporting flows. Work with team to identify potential solutions and document solutions Estimate LOEs for projects. Flex into a project manager role for small initiatives. Work with BI, IT, and Business teams to achieve project and business goals. WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE TABLE 6+ combined years of Business Analyst experience, Data Analysis and/or Developer experience and Project management experience Possess a B.A./B.S. in MIS or Computer Science, or an equivalent in education and experience Self-starter who provides ideas and solutions and understands best practices in their discipline. Can understand, analyze, and articulate both complex business and complex technical concepts Can translate between business and technical concepts Strong communication and documentation skills Ability to support multiple projects at once Can work in teams and individually Ability to independently perform technical analysis and document and articulate a recommended solution to address the needs of the business Desire to use or create standards, consider reusability, and have a long-term view while understanding any short-term needs. Ability to independently read and develop in following technologies: SQL, SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS. Working knowledge of Tableau and Power BI is a plus. Expertise in developing process flows (Visio or similar technology) Possess extreme passion for using data to uncover insights and drive business performance. Possess the ability to identify, analyze, and resolve problems logically and systematically. Have the ability to function collaboratively as part of a fast-paced, customer-oriented team, perform effectively and demonstrated willingness to support the team on all levels to get the job done. Restaurant industry experience a plus.
