The Payments, Virtual Solutions, and Innovation (PVSI) team includes Operations, Consumer Credit Card, Retail Services, Consumer Deposits, the Innovation Group, Treasury Management, Merchant Services, Marketing and Wells Fargo Virtual Channels and the professional services teams that partner with these businesses. PVSI's focus is on delivering the next generation of payments and deposit capabilities and advancing our digital and online offerings to design new customer experiences and products. The Payments, Virtual Solutions and Innovation Fraud and Claims Management (PVSI FCM) team partners with product, channel, risk and technology teams to develop and provide secure, reliable, scalable and customer friendly prevention, investigation and claims services that protect customers and Wells Fargo from fraud losses. The team reviews account activity and high-risk transactions to prevent victim and perpetrator fraud, processes check fraud and Automated Clearing House (ACH) claims, investigates and resolves customer disputes (fraud and non-fraud) on all transaction types and manages all Wells Fargo identity theft cases.

The position will report to Darcy Illg, Loss Forecasting Manager within the PVSI FCM Division. The Financial Analyst -Forecasting & Planning role is part of a newly formed team, and the activities performed will change over time, based on business needs and the skills and experience of the person in the role. Wide knowledge in budgeting, forecasting, financial or operational planning, or financial or data analysis will be a plus. Ability to organize one's own work, the work of others, projects and/or timelines is strongly desired.

Financial Analyst - Forecasting & Planning role consults with management and business partners on matters of significance regarding strategic approaches, effectiveness of support function, and business performance improvement opportunities for the applicable business functions. Such consultation includes discussion of alternatives and implications. Presents to executive management on business performance and recommends strategies to implement changes and improvements. Utilizes thorough knowledge of the LOB's or business group's functional area or products to support and drive a consolidated, collaborative forecast for the business. May provide work direction to lower level staff. Functions supported may include: policy/procedure administration and adherence, systems/change initiatives, legal and regulatory adherence, reporting and analysis, project funding, pipeline, process improvement, quality management, communications, and/or financial control/budgeting oversight (example: monitoring business expenses).


  • Coordinate iterative inputs from multiple lines of business (LOBs) to create quarterly forecast
  • Facilitate cross-team meetings to collaboratively identify assumptions and understand results
  • Identify formulas and numerical inputs for assumptions related to business or external environment risks, internal
  • controls, product changes, market trends and other factors related to forecasting
  • Prepare multiple presentations, both routine and ad hoc, incorporating analytical data and descriptive narrative
  • Maintain detailed records of forecast outputs and inputs, processes, quantitative or qualitative models, meetings,
  • approvals, or other items, as needed, for compliance or governance

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ year of experience in one or a combination of the following: business support, project management, implementation, business operations or strategic planning in financial services
Desired Qualifications

  • Microsoft Excel experience designing and running macros
  • Microsoft Excel spreadsheets experience importing, exporting, and manipulating data
  • Ability to analyze quantitative or qualitative data
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a quantitative development team about models and integration strategies
  • Ability to facilitate meetings with a diverse audience
  • Ability to facilitate team meetings or present information to an audience
  • Ability to identify inefficiencies, opportunities to streamline business processes, and implement change
  • Ability to prepare presentations, management reporting, and statistical analysis
  • Ability to present results of analyses and recommendations to senior leaders
  • Ability to understand client concerns, questions, and problems
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of database building, forecasting, and processes
  • Knowledge and understanding of report creation: daily, monthly, or ad hoc reports
  • Experience collecting, recording, analyzing and processing information or data
  • Experience creating ad hoc and re-occurring reporting for business purposes
  • Experience conducting project meetings, presentations and status reporting
  • Experience with forecasting systems development
  • Knowledge and understanding of business process

Salary Information

The salary range displayed below is based on a Full-time 40 hour a week schedule.

AZ-Tempe: Min: $91,700 Mid: $131,000
NC-Charlotte: Min: $91,700 Mid: $131,000
