J. Morrissey & Company, Inc. has been retained by United Methodist Homes, Shelton CT, to conduct the search for the new Senior Director, Human Resources.
United Methodist Homes (UMH) is an award-winning, not-for-profit organization proud to serve the seniors in the Connecticut area. With a long and robust history dating back to 1874, the UMH team is considered experts in caring for a continuum of needs, including independent senior living, assisted living and skilled nursing. Campuses include Shelton, Farmington and Newington CT.
The Senior Director, Human Resources is responsible for the day to day functions of human resources including wage and salary administration, benefits administration, compliance, employment and employee relations for UMH and all affiliates. With approximately 550 employees and a staff of 3, the Senior Director will be a hands-on leader who works in partnership with the management team to address key human resource issues and provide mentoring and training in a collaborative and positive environment for the HR department.
Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field.
At least 5 or more years HR leadership experience in organizations with highly trained and experienced knowledge workers.
Expert level knowledge of the human resources platform including recruitment, performance planning and management, compensation, benefits, training and development, state and federal legal and regulatory compliance, diversity, equity and inclusion work, organizational design and development.
Highly Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Office; working knowledge of HRIS products.
Strong collaboration, management and mentoring skills.
Exceptional communication skills.
