Job Description

The Engineering Manager of End User Computing will plan, direct and coordinate cloud, desktop and mobile engineering team activities to deliver new solutions, meet operational goals, identify emerging technologies and drive end-to-end development and delivery of best practices.
Job Description

  • Introduce modern workplace management solutions.
  • Strategize and deliver all End User Computing (laptops, mobile devices, workstations, Windows, Mac, Android, Office365, Teams, Sharepoint, Exchange, OneDrive, video/audio conferencing, and related desktop software) engineering and operations.
  • Modernize, automate, simplify, and enhance our end-user computing environment.
  • Develop and implement operation methodologies that ensure proactive IT actions.
  • Provide expertise on very complex technical issues requiring creativity and ingenuity.
  • Determine project priorities to develop activity plans, time and resource estimates. Coordinate resources and activities for each phase of a project, ensuring that system changes and enhancements are carried out properly and on a timely basis.
  • Ensure compliance to key regulatory, security and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Manage day to day activities of image updates, software deployments, product analysis, quality assurance, troubleshooting and support. Coordinate with multiple teams to implement, maintain and support the end-user environment.
  • Provide leadership and direction in analysis, testing and support of end-user devices and develop team's skills-set and provide external and interal training and mentoring to staff to ensure sufficient soft skills and technical expertise. Assess staff performance and motivate the team.
  • Take ownership of problems requiring L3 expertise, and determine route cause.
  • Develop strong partnerships and collaborative relationships with organizational leaders.
  • Identify emerging technologies and drive end-to-end development and delivery of best practices.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field and established technologist with 7+ years in end-user device engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in management or team leadership.
  • ITIL Foundation Certification
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of the available EUC technologies with Windows clients, SCCM, O365, Azure, AWS, Microsoft Intune, Android, Apple iOS / MacOS, antivirus management, endpoint detection and response.
  • Significant experience with Office 365 strategies/roadmaps and the ability to work with diverse teams to plan and develop an enterprise architecture for Office 365 and supporting components.
  • Experience with the integration of Office 365 with 3rd party security and application tools
  • Customer Service - works well with clients and other vendors in achieving mission success and is committed to providing quality products and services.
  • Strong Communication Skills - be able to express key ideas and obtain tangible feedback from cross-functional team members and stakeholders.
  • Critical Thinking and Problem Solving - identifies risks and problems, and be able to conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis to generate and evaluate alternatives and to make recommendations.
