Techwave has immediate opening for a Sr. Engineering Manager to join our growing Engineering Services Team. The ideal candidate will reside in the Houston, TX area. However, this is not a requirement and the position can be 100% remote This is an urgent hire. Qualified candidates will be eligible for a signing bonus As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will share in providing guidance and direction to other Team members, while working collaboratively with local and global teams to deliver design projects to the customer on time and accurately. You will help to identify and deploy necessary resources to execute work efficiently and play a key role in the overall success of our organization by planning, managing, and monitoring engineering functions. In addition, you will be responsible for overseeing various engineering projects, processes, budgets, and timelines and making any necessary adjustments in order to ensure successful completion. You will build and foster positive, beneficial relationships with our customers and be able to communicate clearly on all project scopes being handled. In this role, you will report directly to the Delivery Director of Engineering Services for North America. Job Requirements:
  • 6+ years of Engineering experience, ideally in a management role.
  • 5+ years of OSP Engineering experience in large scale HFC or Fiber design projects, with knowledge of various architecture deployments and permitting requirements.
  • Analytical and mathematical mind, capable of evaluating and solving various complex problems
  • Leadership skills necessary to manage and develop a team.
  • Organizational competencies and project management skills to keep projects, processes, and the entire engineering team on track.
  • Self-motivated attitude with the ability to multitask and thrive in a timeline-driven environment.
  • Interpersonal communication skills with expertise in distilling complicated topics to a broader audience.
  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team.
Job Duties:
  • Manage and self-start multiple OSP Engineering projects of varying complexity and size for Fiber or HFC deployment.
  • Work with other departments and project team members to coordinate field survey, engineering design, permitting, quality and inspection, as well as subcontractors.
  • Review and understand construction drawings in aerial, buried or underground environments.
  • Communicate project status clearly to executive management and customers.
  • Proactively identify potential project risk factors, communicate these to the project team, and work with stakeholders to resolve.
  • Serve as the engineering leader and technical expert
  • Answer questions and resolve issues brought forth by the engineering team members
  • Create detailed engineering plans, processes, and procedures for engineering staff to use and abide by
  • Propose and oversee budgets and timelines for engineering projects
  • Check and confirm the accuracy of the work performed and the methods used by engineering staff
  • Conduct various tests and quality assurance checks to verify the quality of completed projects
  • Monitor and determine various staffing and training needs
  • Train and supervise engineering team members
  • Proactively drive positive results in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
