Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate individuals to join our Summer Internship Program! As an intern at Kite, you'll have the unique opportunity to learn about cell therapy from some of the brightest minds in biotech while making a meaningful impact. The Role

The Regulatory Affairs (RA) Advertising and Promotion (Ad/Promo) group at Kite is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership in the area of advertising and promotion pertaining to US marketing activities and products to help ensure company materials are compliant with FDA regulations. The RA Ad/Promo intern position will provide the opportunity for interested individuals to develop an understanding of FDA regulations and guidance as they relate to promotional materials for prescription medical products. The intern will also gain knowledge on the roles and responsibilities of key functions that are involved with the RA Ad/Promo team. You will receive mentorship from the RA Ad/Promo group on how to collaborate with functional partners to apply the relevant regulations and FDA guidance in an evaluation of promotional materials. An opportunity to develop and present a research project pertaining to advertising and promotion will be available based on your interest and business goals.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Develop awareness of common violations of FDA regulations as it pertains to promotion of prescription therapies
  • Monitor the prescription drug advertising and promotion enforcement landscape to gain familiarity with common compliance violations
  • Research competitor promotional materials to provide regulatory intelligence to relevant partners
  • Gain familiarity with different methods to create fair-balanced promotional messages
  • Review research conducted by OPDP on the impact of different methods of advertising on healthcare provider and/or direct-to-consumer opinions of the therapy


Basic Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years or older
  • Must be currently enrolledin a full-time graduate degree program at an accredited university/college
  • Must have completed at least one year of study at an accredited university/college prior to internship commencing
  • Must be enrolled in the Fall Semester at an accredited university/college after the completion of the internship - graduation date of December 2021 or Spring/Summer 2022
  • Must be able to complete a 10-12 consecutive week internship between June and September
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without Kite sponsorship
  • Must not be employed at the time the internship starts


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled in graduate degree program with emphasis in Biologic Science, Regulatory Science, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Bioengineering or similar related degree programs
  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale
  • Interest in developing an understanding of regulatory requirements around the promotion of prescription products
  • Ability to identify issues and seek solutions
  • Ability to conduct research with an analytical approach
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Comfortable with public speaking
  • Flexible, able to work in a fast-paced, rapidly-changing environment
  • Self-motivated, efficient, organized, and able to handle short timelines
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite
